Cook Kosher

There are several Jewish dietary laws that you must follow for a food to be deemed "kosher." These steps will tell you what you need to do to abide by the kosher laws. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Find a grocery store or butcher that has a reputation for selling kosher meats. Beef and poultry must be slaughtered and blessed to be considered kosher. Pork and seafood must not be consumed by someone keeping kosher.

2. Cook with kosher ingredients only. If you use an ingredient in a dish that is not kosher, it makes the entire dish non-kosher.

3. Shop online at the IsrealiSuper website for quality kosher food that can be delivered to your home.

4. Purchase separate cookware, dishes and silverware for your kosher meals. Kosher food is never cooked in or eaten with utensils that are used for non-kosher food.

5. Buy a good cookbook to get kosher recipes. "Eat! Enjoy! The 101 Best Jewish Recipes" is published by St. Martin's Press and available at Barnes and Noble or Borders. This book includes some excellent kosher recipes.
