Cook Oatmeal For Breakfast

Do not use instant-cook oatmeal for this recipe.


According to the Mayo Clinic, eating oatmeal for breakfast on a regular basis is beneficial to your health and lowers blood cholesterol. Oatmeal is a porridge made from ground oats mixed with water and other flavorings.To cook oatmeal for breakfast you will need approximately 10 minutes and a few rich ingredients to add to the dish. When finished, the oatmeal will have a creamy consistency with a soft and sweet flavor. Add this to my Recipe Box.


Instructions


1. Bring the water to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.


2. Reduce the heat to low and add the rolled oats. Stir the oats into the water with a wooden spoon. Continue stirring for four minutes as the oatmeal thickens.


3. Add the butter, brown sugar and half-and-half to the saucepan. Stir to blend the ingredients with the oatmeal and remove the saucepan from heat.


4. Allow the oatmeal to cool and thicken for three minutes before dishing equal amounts into four bowls. Serve immediately.
