Make Peppermint Eggnog

The traditional eggnog drink has been around for a long time and is a holiday favorite for many around the world. Some believe it was used for medicinal purposes back in the 1500s prior to becoming a traditional holiday drink in the 1820s. Eggnog, also known as Egg Flip, is typically made up of spices, raw eggs and sugar. Add in some finely chopped peppermint candy and you will have your own homemade Peppermint Eggnog. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Beat the egg yolks in the mixer bowl until they are a light yellow. Slowly add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to mix until it is completely dissolved.

2. Combine and add the nutmeg, milk, and cream and stir.

3. Add the crushed peppermint and mix thoroughly.

4. Add the egg whites into the mixture and whisk briskly.

5. Chill the eggnog in the refrigerator about 30 minutes and then serve it. Top it with whipped cream and crushed peppermints if desired.
