What To Dip In Chocolate Fountains

Chocolate Fountain

It is the stuff of which dreams are made--chocolate flowing and a gathering crowd of children reaching to the lava surge with whatever they deem worthy of covering with the tasty sauce. Chocolate fountains have made the fantasy a reality and whether you are dipping in a home version or a commercial grade fountain at a large function or party, you are limited only by your own imagination as to what goes well with the oozing chocolate. Does this Spark an idea?

Fresh Fruit

Edible Arrangements offers skewered fruits that taste delicious coated with melted chocolate. However, you can easily create your own fruit skewers with bamboo spears and a bite-size pieces of various fruits. Cut apples, melons, peaches, pears, pineapples or whatever is your favorite into cubes and put them on skewers. Use small berries, cherries and grapes. Bananas taste great dipped in chocolate, but they have an extremely short shelf life.

Dried Fruit

Fresh fruits taste delicious when smothered in chocolate--but so does dried fruit. And unlike its moist counterpart, you won't have to pat it dry it before dousing it in chocolate. Apricots, pineapples and mangoes are just a few of your chocolate dipping choices.

Cookies

Hard cookies like biscotti and gingersnaps are particularly well-suited to chocolate fountains, as are a host of other store-bought cookies. Even ladyfingers, graham crackers and sugar cookies are transformed by a chocolate coating.

Cakes, Brownies and Doughnuts

Use a ladle to immerse chunks of softer desserts such as angel food cake and brownies, which might crumble when dipped into the sauce. Doughnut holes are the perfect size to dip or smother.

Candies and Marshmallow

Instead of toasting it over the campfire, hold your marshmallow in the flow from a fountain. Chocolate and caramel squares are also good dippers.

Pretzels

Salty chocolate snacks are a great hit at cocktail parties. Add peanut clusters and pretzel rods to the flowing fountain for a fun party accompaniment.
