Homemade Recipes To Kill Roaches

Homemade Recipes to Kill Roaches

Bay Leaves

You can buy bay leaves at any supermarket on the seasonings isle. Your bay leaves come whole, so you will need to take them out of the bottle and crush them up. They will crush easily in the palm of your hand. Then sprinkle the bay leaves in the corners of your cabinets and pantry. You can sprinkle them anywhere you have seen the roaches. Roaches won't die from the bay leaves, but they will be repelled by them. They will then seek to go somewhere else, leaving your house alone.

Borax

Borax is used to make homemade laundry detergent. You should be able to find it on the isle in your supermarket that carries the bleach and laundry detergent. Borax is extremely harmful to cockroaches because it destroys their outer shell. If the outer shell is not working properly, the cockroach can't stay hydrated. It will then die of dehydration. Sprinkle the Borax around the area where you have roaches. Most likely, this will be your kitchen. It may take a few weeks for all of the cockroaches to find the Borax and die, so be patient.

Sugar and Baking Soda

You can find sugar and baking soda in any supermarket on the isle that has the baking supplies. You will need 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of baking soda. Mix the two together in a bowl and sprinkle around the areas you have seen the roaches. The roaches will be drawn by the sugar, so they will come out and eat the mixture. The baking soda, however, is harmful to a roach's digestive system. The roach will start off with gas and then will eventually die from the damage done to its insides.

Diatomaceous Earth

This product may be hard to find around your neighborhood, but you can easily obtain it by ordering it on eBay. Diatomaceous Earth is actually totally natural and safe for pets and children. It actually has fossil shells in it and is very coarse. That means it works the same way as the borax above. It destroys the cockroach's shell and causes it to die of dehydration. Just sprinkle the Diatomaceous Earth in the corners of your house, cabinet, or pantry where you have found the roaches.
