Restaurants On Lake Street In Minneapolis

Lake Street is a busy road located in the center of South Minneapolis, between 28th and 31st streets. It runs east and west and it is known for its diversity of restaurants that offer cuisine from all around the world. The restaurants serve a variety of food items, from appetizers to multi-course meals, to meet the needs of all types of guests. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Italian


From quick pizza to elegant fine dining, Lake Street Italian restaurants have it covered. Amore Victoria is an independently owned Italian restaurant providing natural and homemade classic Italian appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts, plus a full bar and an international wine list with more than 120 choices. Risotto Italian Restaurant and Bar is an authentic casual dining Italian restaurant inspired by the traditional Italian rice entr e called Arborio. It prides itself on flavorful dishes with classic ingredients, such as four varieties of risotto and penne all carbonara, complemented by wines from all over the world. Jakeeno's Trattoria is a neighborhood Italian restaurant located in Midtown Global Market with local favorite menu items such as pizza and made-to-order pasta, plus salads, soups, sandwiches, hoagies and desserts.


Seafood


Get a taste of the sea on Lake Street. Stella's Fish Caf is a relaxed seafood restaurant that offers modern fish and shellfish options from a variety of menus, including lunch, lunch raw bar, dinner, dinner raw bar, gluten-free, kids and sushi. Choose from fresh catch, signature entrees, platters and baskets. For the non-seafood fan, there are steaks, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and side dishes. Take advantage of specials on certain days, such as Crab Lovers Thursdays. Further down Lake Street, La Sirena Gorda is a neighborhood restaurant that serves fresh seafood seasoned with authentic Mexican spices. It offers raw choices, seafood tacos, seafood wraps, soups, salads and desserts, plus chef specials such as fried calamari. It also offers specials on the weekends, including mahi-mahi fish and shrimp quesadillas.


Mexican


Go south of the border without leaving Lake Street. Taqueria Los Ocampo is an authentic Mexican restaurant offering homemade dishes made from recipes and spices passed down for generations, such as hurache, and classic enchiladas with choice of meat. Taqueria La Hacienda has two locations on Lake Street: one at La Hacienda Plaza and another in the food court of Mercado Central. It prides itself on authentic dishes with origins from Mexico City and Morelos, Mexico. Its signature dish is tacos al pastor, with Mexican style barbeque pork. It also features quesadillas, burritos, shrimp cocktail and steak entrees. A La Salsa, in Midtown Global Market, provides authentic Mexican food in a relaxed environment, with house specialties such as chilaquiles con polo, plus seafood platters, tacos and burritos. The restaurant also provides a kids' menu for guests under 12 years old.


American


For an all-American meal on Lake Street, try the Craftsman Restaurant and Bar, serving regional New American cuisine using organic and seasonal ingredients mostly from local growers and producers. It offers dinner, brunch and kids' menus that change with the seasons, with unusual specialty dishes such as rabbit leg confit served with grits, kale and honey gastrique. The restaurant also has a full bar. For American cuisine by the lake, Tryg's has dramatic contemporary architecture and serves American favorites like Buffalo wings and chuck roast sandwiches. Tryg's also offers an extensive wine list and a variety of happy hour and daily dinner specials. It features many monthly events, such as Ladies Night and Industry Night.
