Make A Grocery Coupon Organizer

Make a Grocery Coupon Organizer

Serious coupon collectors amass large numbers of coupons to use when making grocery store purchases. Most traditional grocery coupon organizers are neither big enough to hold large numbers of coupons, nor do they have enough dividers to adequately separate coupons by category. Some people organize grocery coupons in binders, which can be bulky and hard to carry around. You can, however, create your own stylish, portable grocery coupon organizer that looks like a small purse.

Instructions

1. Purchase a craft organizer bag to use as a grocery coupon organizer. These cloth bags can be purchased at craft stores, come in a variety of sizes and usually have pockets on the bag's exterior. The inside may or may not have pockets, but it is best to buy a bag that does not have internal pockets. You can purchase any size you like, but the smaller ones are easiest to carry and prevent grocery coupons from slipping out of order.

2. Write grocery coupon categories at the top of each index card. Organize coupon categories by your favorite grocery store's layout or by the order in which you shop for groceries. Coupon categories could include, but are not limited to, dairy, beverages and snacks. Alternatively, you can print out your category labels and stick them onto each index card tab rather than handwriting each category name. Organize coupon category cards to go from the front to the back of the organizer as you shop.

3. Sort your coupons and insert them in between organizer category cards. Keep an extra pen, calculator and anything else that you need to calculate expenses while you shop in the coupon organizer pockets.
