Get Rid Of Squirrels

Squirrels are a nuisance for many people, especially in North America. They may eat your bird food, nest in your attic, chew electrical wires and cause other destruction. Follow these steps to keep squirrels away from your property and to get rid of the ones that are already there. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Buy squirrel-proof bird feeders. Bird feeders attract squirrels, but if the squirrels cannot get the seeds out of them, they will quickly give up.

2. Keep your yard clean from all trash and food scraps. Squirrels will eat practically anything, and they will stay around your property if they think they'll find something to eat. Keep spilled seeds from the bird feeder cleaned up, and clean up leftovers from picnics or cookouts.

3. Purchase a squirrel repellent for your yard or garden. There are many different types of squirrel repellents. Some are sprinkled or sprayed, while others are hung in zones that you want to be squirrel-free. Many of these repellents use predator urine to repel squirrels.

4. Get a young, active cat or two. Cats are natural predators and will get plenty of exercise chasing your squirrels. If the cat pesters the squirrels enough, they will probably leave.

5. Set a live trap for any remaining squirrels. Bait it with nuts, peanut butter or fruit. When you catch a squirrel, take it at least 15 miles away from your home and let it go. On the other hand, you can contact your local animal control facility, and they may be willing to take the trapped squirrel away for you.
