What Is Smoking Spice

What Is Smoking Spice?

Spice is the name for a synthetic cannabis created during the 1990s. Marketed as a legal alternative to marijuana, users smoke spice like they would any other plant product. Some countries and localities have banned spice due to its similarities to marijuana. Does this Spark an idea?

Function

Like cannabis, users of spice smoke the synthetic product by rolling it in tobacco paper and often mixing it with some tobacco leaves, according to the Legal High.

Effects

Smoking spice produces psychoactive effects similar to those of cannabis, such as relaxation and euphoria, according to the Telegraph UK. The main difference between spice and cannabis is a delay between inhaling and the high feeling when smoking spice.

Warning

In the past, companies have sold spice as a legal incense. Studies on the chemical composition of spice found it contained JWH-018--the synthetic compound that gives users a high feeling. JWH-018 is banned in some countries, such as the UK. As of 2010, the US has yet to take any position on spice.
