Dress For Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is usually one of those cozy, lazy holidays where the main focus is lots of food and leisure. The best way to take advantage of this is to plan your outfit accordingly. You can dress for Thanksgiving dinner by following a few simple tips. Also, keep in mind no matter how dazzling you may look, the focus is still going to be on the turkey. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Be casual. In addition to sitting around and eating, Thanksgiving dinner often includes a lot of sitting around recovering from eating. Kids are also a staple at many holiday festivities, so wear something in which you can crouch on the floor and play with them.

2. Pick dark colors or prints. No matter how careful you may be, cranberry sauce is going to find its way onto a white blouse or light, silk necktie. Dark colors insure whatever gravy, stuffing or green-bean casserole may spill your way will be heavily concealed.

3. Opt for an expanding waistband. Indulgence at Thanksgiving often leads to a very expanded stomach. Wear a belt that has a few extra notches to go larger or, better yet, pick something with an elasticized waist that will expand along with you.

4. Keep your feet comfortable. An after-dinner walk is a grand way to come back to life, burn off some calories or simply get some fresh air. Make sure you wear shoes you can walk in, even if it’s just around the block.

5. Throw on a festive touch. Even something as small as a turkey pin or a wrist band that proclaims “gratitude” will give you a way to show you are celebrating the holiday. If you have one, throw on a pilgrim hat for the heck of it. Just take it off during dinner so you are not rude.
