Make A Dressing For Crab Cakes

Make a Dressing for Crab Cakes

Crab cakes are a popular seafood meal that can be made in a short amount of time. If you want a dressing that matches the flavor of crab cakes, you can make your own with just a few common kitchen ingredients. This recipe makes enough dressing for four servings or eight crab cakes. The quantity can be increased by doubling the amounts of each ingredient. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Put 2 tsp. of spicy Dijon mustard into a large mixing bowl, and slowly stir in 2 tbsp. of olive oil.

2. Mix the two thoroughly using a whisk. Once blended, add 2 tsp. of white vinegar, and then mix again until a creamy consistency is achieved. For a bit more spice, try using your favorite flavored vinegar.

3. Sample the dressing, and then add salt and pepper to taste. A dash of each will usually work, but depending on your crab cake recipe, more or less may be more suitable.

4. Whisk all ingredients together a final time, and then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to properly meld, and will also help thicken the dressing.

5. Allow the dressing to warm to room temperature before serving. The dressing may be tossed into a salad or basted directly onto the crab cakes.
