Cook Jasmine Rice Without A Rice Cooker

You don't need a rice cooker to cook jasmine rice.


Jasmine rice, also known as Thai fragrant rice, is long-grain and originally from Thailand. Thai meals are never complete without a bowl of jasmine rice. No other substitutes can compare to jasmine rice for the way it balances out the flavors within Thai dishes. The precise amount of water used is the secret component to jasmine rice perfection. It's easy to make jasmine rice without a rice cooker. Add this to my Recipe Box.


Instructions


1. Put 2 cups of rice in a small saucepan. Rinse rice three times and drain it to remove excess starch.


2. Add 2.5 cups of water. Cover the saucepan with a lid and place it over medium heat. Bring the water to a boil.


3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for approximately 10 to 12 minutes or until the water has completely evaporated.


4. Turn off the burner. Set the pan aside and allow it to sit for five minutes before you serve the rice. This recipe makes two to three servings.
