Get rid of roaches for free with a homemade bait.
Cockroaches are one of the most common household pest insects. They often leave an offensive odor behind and have been linked to allergic reactions in humans. There are many commercial roach killers on the market, but before you go buy one, try using common household baking soda and sugar. This is a lethal combination for roaches because the smell of sugar lures them to the baking soda, which once ingested, causes their stomach to explode.
Instructions
1. Make a homemade bait solution with baking soda and sugar. Mix together equal parts of baking soda and sugar in a bowl.
2. Fill some milk jug lids with the baking soda and sugar solution. Place the containers in places where pets and children will not find them like behind appliances.
3. Set some jar lids with water close to the bait solution. The roaches will drink the water after consuming the baking soda, which will cause their stomach to expand.
4. Practice good sanitation. Clean your kitchen often, and vacuum floors frequently. Don't leave garbage or food out at night.
5. Prevent roaches from coming into your home. Fill holes in walls, floors and siding with caulk to keep roaches out of your home.
