Relax your hair naturally.
African American hair can be very challenging when it comes to perming. Stronger chemicals are recommended when it comes to African American perming due to the type of hair that African Americans have. Natural hair relaxers give African American hair a healthier, stronger look. Natural products will not damage or harm the hair and these products are effective and environmentally friendly. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Rub oil around the edges of the head to protect the hair from breakage. Then use the comb to part your hair into four even sections. Wherever the scalp is visible rub a light amount of oil directly onto the scalp.
2. Mix the natural perm with the natural activator until it is smooth with no clumps. Apply the perm with the perm brush around the outer part of your head before covering the inside sections. Make your way to the inside of the head by parting and applying the perm to the roots of the hair. Apply the natural perm to the entire head but do not put it on the ends of the hair due to the weight of the perm.
3. Let the perm sit for seven to ten minutes. This gives the vitamins inside of the perm time to sit and soak into your scalp. Every two to three minutes take the comb and stroke through each section to make sure the hair is responding to the perm. After each section has been combed through use the natural shampoo to wash the perm out of your hair. The shampoo that is used for natural perms will turn pink if there is still perm in your hair. This indication gives you an idea of how many times your hair needs to be washed.
4. Apply natural conditioner. The natural conditioner should be spread over the entire head and massaged gently into the scalp. This conditioner should sit for fifteen minutes maximum before being rinsed out.
5. Pat hair dry with a hand towel. Once the hair is partially dry, heat the natural oil until it's warm and apply to the scalp. This hot oil treatment gets down in your scalp pores and keeps your hair from becoming dry.
