Kitchen Recipes To Get Rid Of Cellulite

Cellulite is a condition many women deal with at some point in their lives. It can leave you searching for the best way to minimize that lumpy, puckered appearance. There are hundreds of products for sale on the market promising to restore skin to a smooth, flawless texture and appearance, but you could wind up spending a fortune searching for a cure.

Fortunately, there are simple kitchen recipes to get rid of cellulite. You can reduce the appearance of cellulite and prevent the condition from getting worse with items that may already be in your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Homemade Salt Scrub

You can use any type of salt you have in your pantry. Sea salt and ordinary table salt both work well. You will need to choose an oil to mix with the salt. You can use olive oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil or plain vegetable oil. Mix together one part salt with one part oil. Step into the bathtub (filled or not) and apply the scrub to the affected areas. Scrubs deliver better results when applied to dry skin. Rub it in a circular motion and rinse completely. If your skin is sensitive, use sugar instead. It's a gentler alternative.

Coffee Grounds

Many women have claimed to have success using coffee grounds to eliminate cellulite. You may be surprised to learn that caffeine is the active ingredient found in even the most expensive anti-cellulite creams. These creams are designed to firm and smooth away the dimpled appearance of cellulite. Caffeinated coffee grounds produce a similar effect.

Put newspaper or plastic bags down on the floor to minimize mess. Mix a quarter cup of warm coffee grounds with one tablespoon of oil. It can be olive oil, almond oil or vegetable oil. Apply it directly to the cellulite areas of your body and wrap the area in plastic wrap for about 10 to 20 minutes. Remove the plastic and brush away the excess coffee mixture from your skin. Follow up with a shower as usual.

Another coffee treatment involves grinding coffee grounds to a powder and mixing it with lotion. Rub the mixture into the affected areas once a day for one to two minutes, and then remove the mixture in the shower.

Deep Massage

Massaging the affected areas with oil can help create a more toned, smooth appearance. Coconut oil and olive oil work just as well as any other expensive massage oil. The massage should be deep and intense. You can use rollers and other massage tools to help reduce the bumpy, rippled appearance of the skin.
