Cut Turkey Wings To Reduce Cooking Time

Reduce the cooking time for turkey wings by cutting them apart.

Turkey wings are nutritious and cheap, but since they're larger than chicken wings, they take longer to cook. Reduce the cooking time required by cutting the turkey wings into separate segments. More surface area in contact with the pan will increase the rate of cooking, and make them easier to handle when eating. Turkey wings are dark meat, and are one of the least expensive cuts. This makes for a cheap and delicious meal. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Sharpen your knife if it is dull. The segments are connected with tough cartilage, which you will need to cut through.

2. Clear your work area and put down a cutting board.

3. Lay the turkey wing out on the cutting board, with the back side facing up.

4. Grasp the tip of the wing and pull it outwards so the wing is stretched out. Use the knife to slice through the connective tissue between the bones and discard the tip.

5. Stretch the wing out at the elbow joint, and cut through the skin. Slide the edge of the knife between the upper and lower wing bones to separate them into two pieces. The turkey wing pieces are now ready for cooking.
