Organic Farming

Organic millet is the product of organic farming. Millet grows in many places but only millet grown under certain prescribed conditions can carry the organic label. The United States Department of Agriculture, or USDA, defines the term "organic" and publishes regulations that must be complied with for a product to use that term. The USDA sends inspectors to farms to certify that the agricultural practices meet the definition of organic. Organic means no pesticides, conservation of resources, and promotion of the ecological balance of the land.

Handling

Organic millet requires proper handling at all stages. Clean farm equipment ensures no contamination during the growing stage. Everyone in the production system, which includes all entities that handle millet from the time it leaves the farm until it arrives at the store, complies with USDA standards. This results in an organic product for the consumer.
