Combine Fruits & Vegetables

Apples or tangerines add a hint of sweetness to a salad.

Fruits and vegetables are both healthy for your body and possible to combine together in the same meal or at the same time. Depending on your preferences for fruits and vegetables, options will vary in what you use but the principals of combining fruits and vegetables are the same. The fruits can add a sweet flavor to the vegetables or any meats eaten with vegetables on the side or even to vegetable juices. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Add fruit to your salad. For example, cut up some apples into thin slices and add them to the top of the salad, or peel and separate a tangerine and put it on top of the salad with some almond slices. Use a vinaigrette dressing for an added tart flavor.

2. Put fruits in your vegetable juices. Adding a little apple or orange to vegetable juices can help make the juice more palatable by adding a hint of sweetness. Get creative and use your favorite fruits and vegetables together in a juice.

3. Add a vegetable to your fruit smoothies. For example, add some carrot to your smoothie or put in a little cucumber. The fruits hide the taste of the vegetables while allowing you the added nutrition of the vegetable.

4. Top meats with fruit sauces while eating vegetables on the side. For example, put apple sauce on top of pork and eat some broccoli and carrots on the side, or put a little mango sauce with fresh mango slices on top of beef or prawns while eating a side salad or steamed carrots. You can even make fruit and vegetable sauces for toppings on meat to add flavor to the meat.
