Cooking With The George Forman Grill

George Foreman Grill

Grilled food just seems to taste better. Indoor grilling is an exciting and delicious way to increase your options for food preparation. When it is time to eat, you can quickly and easily pull out your George Foreman grill, set it up on the counter and grill a variety of foods to perfection. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Basic Use

Place the grill on a flat counter top or table near an outlet. Set the temperature according to the foods you will be grilling. Place the plastic tray under the grill to catch dripping grease while the food cooks.

Preheat the grill for three to five minutes.

Place the meat onto the grill and cook for the recommended time. Flipping is not necessary with the George Foreman, as the grill allows overall cooking to the food.

Completely saturate five to six paper towels and squeeze out the excess water. Spread the wet paper towels onto the bottom surface of the grill. Cover the entire cooking surface with several layers of paper towel. Close the grill and allow it to cool.

Wash the grease tray by hand or on the top rack of the dishwasher.

When the grill is cool, remove the damp paper towels. Use the damp paper towels to scrub the grill surfaces and to remove all of the baked-on food.

Foods to Cook on the George Foreman Grill

Prepare steaks, boneless chicken, burgers and seafood on the George Foreman grill. In addition to these standard grilling items, cook a variety of specialty recipes on the grill as well.

Fill pita pockets with assorted vegetables, cooked meats and cheeses and grill for approximately five minutes. Make Foccaccia on the grill by rolling out bread dough into a thin circle. Sprinkle cheese, garlic, salt and olive oil onto the dough and grill it until it is crusty and golden brown. Make tasty melted sandwiches on the grill also. Construct sandwiches containing cheese, meats and vegetables. Place the sandwiches on the grill and cook until the ingredients are hot and melted and the bread is toasted.
