Lip gloss kits include containers for storing the finished product.
Because they include most of the supplies needed for making lip gloss, lip gloss kits are a convenient way to get started with this hobby. The ingredients found in these kits are pre-measured, enabling you to skip the measuring and weighing processes. There are many lip gloss kits available for purchase from craft stores, as well as online. Creating your own lip gloss from a kit allows you to make a custom-designed beauty product formulated according to your own tastes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Cover your entire work surface with a layer of newspaper. This will prevent damage to your surface and will make cleaning up spills much easier.
2. Lay the lip gloss pots included with your kit across the newspaper surface, arranging them as close together as possible. Keeping them close together will make pouring the melted lip gloss faster and easier, since you won't need to move around as much during pouring.
3. Cut the solid lip gloss base into pea-sized pieces, and place them in the microwave-safe measuring cup. Microwave in 15-second intervals until the base is completely melted. Allow it to cool until it is safe to handle.
4. Add flavor oil to the melted lip gloss base, if oil was included in your kit. Stir the mixture slowly until the flavor oil and base are combined. Stir in lip-tinting color additives, if included in your kit, until all ingredients are evenly combined.
5. Pour the mixture into the lip gloss pots that came with your kit, filling them completely to the rims. Allow your newly created lip gloss to rest for at least 2 hours before handling; this will give them time to completely harden.
