Decorate Sugar Cookies With Sprinkles

Add red and green sprinkles to design Christmas cookies.

You could serve sugar cookies plain, but with the addition of sprinkles on top, they become a little more tasty and decorative. Sprinkles are the small pieces of candy or colored crystallized sugar used to give texture or design to cookies and other baked desserts. Many cooks add sprinkles to holiday cookies, in the color themed for the holiday, to give cookies a festive appearance. Several methods exist to decorate sugar cookies with sprinkles. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Prepare the cookie dough. Spread it on the baking pan. Add the sprinkles on top of the cookies and insert the cookies into the oven. Bake the cookies and remove when done.

2. Remove cookies from the oven. Allow the cookies to cool down. Spread the icing on the cookies. Add the sprinkles on top before the icing dries.

3. Place cooled cookies on a plate. Dip a brush into melted butter. Brush the cookie. Place the sprinkles on top. Allow to dry.

4. Place chocolate chips into the microwave for 30 seconds on high. Allow the chocolate to melt. Drizzle melted chocolate onto the cookie with a spoon. Put sprinkles on top.

5. Dip the cookies into melted chocolate. Add the sprinkles on top.
