Use thawed tilapia in this recipe.
Tilapia is the name given to approximately 100 species of the cichlid fish. Tilapias live in freshwater, and are typically raised in fisheries, rather than caught from the wild. Their meat has a high level of protein with low amounts of sodium, carbohydrates and saturated fats. Baked tilapia fillets are slightly crisped on the exterior with opaque, flaky meat inside. Preparing tilapia fillets requires approximately 25 minutes of preparation and baking time. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Combine the butter or margarine, garlic, parsley, pepper, paprika and salt in a saucepan. Place over low heat until the butter melts and the seasonings begin to simmer. Remove from the heat.
3. Pour the contents of the saucepan into a baking pan. Spread evenly over the bottom of the baking pan with a pastry brush.
4. Lay four tilapia fillets into the baking pan. Dip the pastry brush into the butter mixture in the pan and brush it across the tops of the fillets.
5. Bake the tilapia in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the meat flakes easily with a fork.
