Bake With Organic Chocolate

Organic chocolate makes provides a natural alternative to non-organic brands.

Baking with organic chocolate uses the same principles as non-organic chocolate. However, your finished product will not have the chemicals found in non-organic chocolate. Experiment with various dessert recipes by replacing traditional chocolate products with organic ones. The following recipe for dark chocolate cake is quick and simple. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Put the cocoa powder in a 1 cup measuring container and add just enough hot water to dissolve the powder. Once it's dissolved, add enough milk to reach 1 cup.

3. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl and mix with a fork.

4. Beat the butter and sugar in another bowl until creamy, then beat in the egg yolk. Add the vanilla. Once fully incorporated, combine the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture with the flour mixture and combine until smooth.

5. Pour the batter into an 8x8 buttered pan and bake for about 35 minutes, or until the center of the cake is done. When the cake is done baking, place it on a cooling rack.
