Make Gravy

Making gravy from the drippings of roast beef is an easy way to add seasoning to your meal without a lot of effort. The drippings provide a good base for your gravy without having to buy stock gravy. The gravy can be made with drippings and some common food items, allowing you to complement the meal without spending a lot of money. You can make your own gravy in about 10 minutes. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Drain 2 tbsp. of drippings out of a roast pan into a saucepan, and place the pan on the stove with the burner set on medium high. Add 2 tbsp. of cornstarch to the drippings and pour in about a 1/4 cup of water to the mixture.

2. Stir the mixture in the saucepan with a spatula until it starts to thicken, and slowly add 2 cups of milk to the gravy, stirring in a little at a time to get the right consistency.

3. Mix the gravy in the saucepan until it is thoroughly blended, and allow the gravy to come to a boil. Allow the gravy to sit for a few minutes to cool down, and serve when ready.
