You can turn your unused eyeshadows and blushes into a new lip gloss shade.
To get the most bang for your beauty buck, don't throw away half-used eyeshadows or blushes -- upcycle them into a new lip gloss shade. You can also use this technique if you've bought a shade that doesn't look quite right as an eyeshadow, but would work well as a lip color. This is a quick way to stretch your makeup budget and give yourself an updated look at the same time. You likely already have everything you need to make homemade lip gloss, and you can mix your colors to make a customized shade that is perfect for you. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Measure out a 1/2 tsp. of petroleum jelly and place it in the empty container. Consider using a cleaned-out empty eyeshadow container for this task.
2. Crush up your eyeshadow, blush or mineral pigment. Break it up into a fine powder with no lumps.
3. Add a small amount of the crushed color to the petroleum jelly. Mix it well to evenly distribute the color.
4. Test the color on your hand or on your lips. If you like the shade, stop here. If the color is too light, add more crushed color until the shade is what you desire.
