Make Mexican Fried Bananas


If you've never enjoyed Mexican fried bananas, you're in for a treat. With their crispy edges and sweet, caramelized centers, these fried bananas are melt-in-your-mouth delicious any time of day. Add this to my Recipe Box.


Instructions


Authentic Fried Mexican Bananas


1. Cut off both ends of the bananas. Carefully split the skin with a paring knife and remove, leaving the bananas whole.


2. Slice the bananas lengthwise, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.


3. Preheat the oil, butter or margarine in a frying pan.


4. Place the bananas, carefully, in the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown.


5. Remove the Mexican fried bananas with a spatula and let them drain on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.


6. Top the Mexican fried bananas with butter or margarine and a little brown sugar. Serve hot.


Super Easy Fried Bananas


7. Peel the bananas and slice them into "chips" about ? inch thick.


8. Make pancake batter as directed on the package.


9. Dip the banana chips in the batter and fry until they are golden brown.


10. Remove the Mexican fried bananas from the pan with tongs or a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.


11. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over fried Mexican bananas. Serve hot.
