Trailer homes have limited bedroom space.
Trailers are, by nature, small spaces. This offers some advantages like less cleaning and maintenance time. However, when it comes to decorating your trailer bedroom, it might feel cramped and stuffy if you don't use the space effectively. The good news is that there are some very simple decorating tips that make any room feel and look bigger, no matter how tiny. A few changes in paint, lighting, furniture and overall organization, and the room feels brand new. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Maximize your storage space. When decorating a small trailer bedroom, every inch matters. Buy tidy containers that slide under your bed, shoe caddies for the closet, and tiered hanging systems for clothing. The more you put away and organize, the better the room looks without any other changes. Additionally, move your furniture away from the walking space in your room. Being able to see the floor makes a room look bigger.
2. Use light, soft hues on your walls. Dark colors close in a space, while lighter ones feel airy. Pastels in particular are a good choice. Try to keep the colors in your bedroom in the same color family, changing things up by texture and placement. Consider using semi-gloss paint, which is not only easy to keep clean but also reflects more light than flat paint.
3. Purchase new window treatments. You want either shear coverings, or ones that you can easily move to let in the light. Trailers frequently have only one bedroom window, and you want as much natural light as possible. Add lighting fixtures fitted with broad spectrum light bulbs to any remaining dark areas. Broad spectrum bulbs imitate sunlight.
4. Add a dressing mirror to your room. Put it across from your window. This reflects light, making the room look larger.
5. Build a shelf around the top of the bedroom at the level of the doorway. This makes a great location for decorations and collectibles that is up off the floor and safe. Add one or two hanging plants for a positive sleeping space.
